Stressssssssss~~~

Everyone is stressing out... Assignments... Quizzes... Lab reports... With all these, siao-ness ensues~ Everyone is complaining about uni life. Most of them, anyway. I'm one of them. This is like... the fifth week since Uni started? And here I am thinking I lead a dull life already. =.= I really don't want to think what might happen years later when I'm stuck in a lab for hours doing research... If I successfully graduate, that is. Zhong Zhong ar... We vowed to marry each other and sell rojak together when we failed, right? =p You don't dump me o~ Wakaka! And sinmei.. Don't jump sea without me... Tahan until July, k? =p

Haven't been in touch with Kimmy and Amery... The problem with people who never come online... =.= Please... Come online once in while so that I can at least say hi lah! Sms also tak de reply. Sakit hati, tau? Mako-chan, please ask them online once in a while... Send a testi through friendster won't take much time either. T_T Miss you guys leh! U guys must ganbatte in studies too! Mako-chan, form 6 wa taihen desu ne. Ganbatte ne!

We're having a floor function tomorrow. I told Vaughan I would go... I haven't pay yet though. Think I could wiggle out last minute? =p Just kidding... but I seriously hope more people would go. Sharon having assignment... Jia Chee, quiz... Shaza also assignment... T_T And I guess the med students won't be going as well... Waaaaaah~~~ Minigolf leh!! I wanna try but it costs 11 bucks (including the pizzas we're going to have)... ^_^;; And I hope I could blend in with the Aussies... Still not that close to them... yet. Hopefully tomorrow I won't regret having to pay 11 bucks for nothing. Define 'nothing'... 'Nothing' means unable to blend in with them, have trouble catching up with their accent and sucks in minigolf... and maybe gain a few pounds after the pizza... XP One way to find out... tomorrow...

Random pics I took with the other 3rd Lords floormates and at Glen Waverly. XD Cheerio~ Spongebob Squarepants rocks!!

Tim Tam is popular here... Take note of the MRS cards on the box. LoL

Makan-ing... I cooked the plate of UFF(Unidentified Fried Food) on the table.

Balderdash...

Played Balderdash just now... And I can tell you that I sucked at it. Totally not my type of game. Why? Because it requires brain and creativity... Apparently, I'm lack of both. Sad case. My partner and I still got second place though. All thanks to Jonathan who could think deep like a philosopher. If you don't know what Balderdash is... Well, basically it's a board game. Oh heck... I'm too moody and sleepy to explain. Just do me a favour and google search Balderdash if you're interested, will ya? ^_^ Thanks. Wikipedia is fine too. Well, basically... it's a cool board game... Seriously it is a great bluffing game. XD There is only one minor problem which is that I can't play at all.

I felt so stupid during the game because everyone seemed to come up with some brilliant stuff but I just sat there and let Jon did his stuff. He's good at it... and that didn't make me feel any smarter. I think I really need to brush up my english as well. And social skills... Geez! I was like 'erm... yeah... it's... fun' when Matt asked me kindly whether I enjoyed the game. Pfft... busted. I can't play Balderdash and now everyone thinks I'm an anti-social-moody-stupid-uncreative girl... or something along the lines. But I really must thank Matt for being such a nice guy asking for my opinions during the game when my partner obviously didn't care much about what I had in mind. But I don't blame you, partner... I honestly don't have much in my mind, anyway. ^_^ll

Oh well, guess what? I'm invited to Matt's 21st Birthday Party at Geelong! XD No idea how to get there but that's not the main point. I'm invited!! He is one of the nicest guy on the floor. ^_^ He's one of the very few Aussies who actually care to call me by my name unlike those who just 'hey!' because they don't remember or don't know how to pronounce my name. And he looks so cute together with his girlfriend, Annie! I have this warm feeling when I see them together because they're the sweetest couple. Everybody, aaawwwwwwwwwww~~~ XDXD

Well, most of my floormates went to the Nott after the game. The Nott is a pub nearby. Not sure about the spelling of the name though. They really know how to enjoy life... even with quizzes tomorrow?? Hmph... good luck,mates...

Oh yeah, I've deco-ed my room... Define deco... =P Just pasted a few pics over the rim of the board on my wall... But those pics are very special to me. XD Some of the laminated sticker photos I took with my friends and family. Made a random love shape... And tada! Pics of Hee Chul and Micky! Haha... I should have bought my anime posters along. Damnit.

Annie and Matt during the Balderdash

Not exactly the best pic ever... LoL Lauren, Hannah and Vaughan at the end of the game. Must be the booze that made the girls look tipsy... =P

Well... it's late... I think I better start revising for the Japanese Quiz tomorrow. =p And chemistry. Man~ I hope I can get the head and tail out of that purple textbook. Cheerio~

P/S :: Vaughan was actually the one I bumped into in the toilet. Haha. He's actually a very nice guy. A med student. He actually shaved his head(he had long hair) for the leukimia donation thingy... Not sure what it was but yeah, a good deed. Sweeeet~~~ I won't do that. =p

Melbourne vs. Malaysia

It rained this morning... I was happily thinking of skipping lectures until I accidentally found the bloody umbrealla I thought I've lost. =.= Tsk... Although it rained, it is still warm. Weird... it was freezing for the last two weeks but it turned warm these two days. Another sign of global warming...

It seemed like forever since I’ve came to Australia… But it is only the third week… Bloody. I’m missing home so much. Especially with Jia Chee telling me every night how she miss her dogs and those delicious food back in Malaysia. XP Man, I would die to have Roti canai right now. And nasi lemak! Damn!! And sashimi from Oguchi~~~ Not that I can’t get good food around here… but… I don’t have my parents to pay for them here. =p So yeah… basically I can’t touch those exotic food sold here. Instant noodle is mah fren! Muakz… T____T

Well… after being in Melbourne for weeks, I had a taste of a very different living environment. Culture shock? Not much since they have looooads of Malaysians around here. A very interesting experience overall… but I had enough! I miss home. Bah!! Call me sissy if you want. I just wanna see my family and friends. And food, of course.

So far… the difference between Melbourne and Malaysia includes…

Weather (like duh?)
Stupid weather... Like a woman. Unpredictable. Hahaha. XD Guess the males would agree with me. Imagine, glaring hot sun... with strong cold wind. It's just weird!! You have to go through hot and cold at the same time. I thought we only get that in hell?? But that was during the end of the summer when I just got here. It is autumn now which is as bloody unpredictable. *shrug* Back in malaysia we only have 2 options : Warm and humid. However... there is something weeeeeeeeeird going on with the people here in Australia. They love the sun!! What the-?? We normal people(Malaysians) would hide from the sun whenever we see one. As for the people here? They're loving it. Sitting on the grass under the glaring blazing sun is their favourite past time during breaks. =.= My gawd!?

Taken during the end of summer somewhere in the campus

Food
Oh yeah Australian BEEF Teh Best!! XDXD My fav. And bacon burger?? You don't get that back in Malaysia. And cheap pizza. But most of the food are pricey... Can't enjoy the food when my mind would just 'ka-ching' converts the price back to Ringgit. $8++ for a bowl of tom yam noodle? Which is not spicy? It is almost RM24!? I can eat sashimi with that money back in Malaysia!! ......They do have oysters and prawns in it but let's just ignore it for the moment. =p Most of the chinese food here sucks. It sucks even more if the restaurant is full of white people. They're all conned. Naive people. *shakes head* I miss the food back in Malaysia... And Coke back in Malaysia is like RM1.60 or something. Here? $2.60. Crap?? But the grapes here are cheaper than back home... and veeeeeeeery sweet!! XD I haven't try the cakes here... yet. But I heard that they are soooo good you would forgive the calories.

People
People here are nice. Superb, in fact. And they're very helpful. I was lost once(ok, maybe not once) and almost in tears... I don't want to be late for lecture on the first week(Honestly!). Then this guy was walking past me like he didn't notice me but suddenly he popped the question(not THE question XD) 'Lost?'. I was so grateful I almost hugged him right there and then. Most of them smile and ask 'How zit going(it sounds like that)?' even when they don't know you. But of course there are still some racists among the Aussies. Very very few of them. But I don't blame them. =p It must feel bad to have the asians invading their country. =p I see asians EVERYWHERE!!

Size
Size of food~~~ I had to share my food with Jie Yen everytime I eat with her. It is just too big for one person. It's even too big for two person. When I first arrived, my parents and I went makan at a chinese restaurant. We ordered 3 dishes and 2 plates of plain noodle... and the three of us can't finish even one plate of it. Imagine. =.= And once I had this burger which is the size of half my face. That is what I call big!!
Compare the size of the bowl to the plate of noodles... o.o

Don't tell me that's because I have short fingers...

Size of body~~~ Guess what? I
bought a secondhand labcoat during the 1st week. One look at me, the woman selling the labcoat chirped 'that's a small for you!'. I was like 'huh? Are you sure??'. I tried the S size on and guess what? It was slightly too big for me. So she suggested a 'small smaller than small'...which she happily explained as a size smaller than small but bigger than extra small... Hm, interesting. It's the first time in years since I wear a small. Not to mention a small smaller than small. XP Not that I'm complaining. Wakaka~ And there I went teasing Jie Yen about her size. Smaller than extra small, anyone? =P

Environment and campus
Well, they do have thrash all over the place... like Malaysia. I feel so at home here. =.= But most of the thrash you could see everywhere are beer bottles... People here drink beer like water because beer is cheaper than water. They have terrible drought. Tsk-tsk. They would bet their beers for all the rain in Malaysia... Maybe not... Pub life is essential for everyone above 18 here. =.= And when you're drunk, you take your clothes off and have unprotective sex or punch an asian friend and yell 'you asian bastards!'. These information are from reliable sources, not my personal experience. And when you're happy, you could also make out with your lover against the wall of the Religious Centre in campus for all view. ^_^ll Fun, isn't it?? Haha...ha...However, I must say Clayton is a nice place overall... they have ducks and swans(or were they geese?) at the lakes!! At Malaysia's lakes, I only see dead fishes(Remember Taman Jaya?).

BTW, people here love to draw!! What we call vandalism back in Malaysia is what they call ART here. XD Most of them are great!!! I love looking out the train on my way to the city!

But they do 'doodle' around too. You can find announcement by just walking with your face downward. Interesting...

For some reason... they let pasar malam people into the campus... =.=

Here, a few random pics for view... Not good quality though becuase they were taken with phone camera.

First angpao containing AUD$! XD

Pics I took on my way back to the Halls. XD I enjoy walking everyday... except when I'm rushing for lectures, that is... Late as usual...

Stairs I have to climb up everytime I walk back...

It's autumn!! ^_^ My first autumn...

A bunch of posers... =p

Jonathan and Jia Chee

Sharon from Mauritius on my right and below... J from Singapore and Jia Chee!! ^_^ Stay cool, girls!

Melbourne City~

I would call myself a directional-challenged or directionally retarded person... whichever sounds better. My sense of directions really IS down the drain. Maybe not even the drain since I could have easily picked it up. Yeah, that serious. However, I think I’m improving since I’ve came to Melbourne. The power of adaptation and evolution, I must say. =P After a week of wandering in the campus aimlessly and getting late for lectures, I’ve grown!! ……Don’t snort, you nasty. =.= Curse those stupid confusing labeling of buildings in the campus. Curse.

And surprisingly, I actually recognized the road to the famous Vietnam restaurant near Chinatown… after walking towards the wrong direction, that is. We had to walk all the way back. Sorry, girls. =p Well, went to the city yesterday. It’s like a mini gathering for me haha with Furfur, Jia Yi and Jie Yen. Jia Chee joined us last minute because… well, the more the merrier. ^_^ Had great fun walking around and chatting with my old friends. They’re old because everything is just so new here… We still didn’t make it to the Vietnam restaurant anyway because a certain ball of Fur suddenly have this craving for Shanghai food. But before she could show us the location of a certain Shanghai restaurant (She is as blur as I am, she is). An old friend from high school showed up. Thanks Lixin for showing up just because I told you I’m at Chinatown!! Muakz. And thanks for recommending the Hong Kong restaurant. The food was… ok. XP Too bad you can’t stick around. Let’s go yam cha next time.

These sceneries photos are by Jia Yi. Great job!! They looked like they were from magazines.

The one with me was by Jie
Yen. Perfect. Eating Italian ice cream in front of Melb Central.

To get to the city, I have to get on a bus to a train station and take a train to city and etc etc… Phew… That’s like so damn troublesome for a lazy person like me. But it’s all worthwhile because the city is great! XD Chinatown is great! Not that there’s any problem with Clayton. Chadstone is okay. It is big but compared to One U, MidValley, etc… not so big afterall. ^_^ll I went shopping at Chadstone with Jia Chee, Sharon and Richard last Saturday. Besides getting on the wrong bus, it was cool. Sharon’s a ‘floor-mate’(since we’re on the same floor in Farrer Lords). She’s from somewhere near Madagascar and she speaks French(cool~)! ^_^ Richard is a Malaysian… Seriously, there are just too many Malaysians around here. Proved by the reaction we get from Richard. He ‘pfft’ed when we told him we’re from Malaysia. Haha. That’s beside the point, of course. He’s still a nice guy who insisted to help us with the heavy groceries.

Jia Chee just came to my room to give me Redoxone just because I told her I was having a running nose. My mum already packed me a whole box of Redoxone but it still feels great to have someone who cares about you in a foreign country. ^_^ Suddenly it doesn’t feel so empty anymore. I realized how everyone from the same country warms up to each other easily when you’re in a foreign country. We might not even greet each other when we were back there but once we meet each other here. *Poof* We’re like long time buddies. Haha. Not that I’m complaining or anything. It’s great! ^_^ For example… I bumped into Jonathan(he was with Mun Yee) few days ago in the campus centre. I didn’t know he’s a Monash student. As far as I can remember, he came to Aus when we were… Form 3? He doesn’t even remember my name but at least he can still recognize me so it’s all cool. Good thing about having a big face, people notice me from far. Haha. So we exchanged phone numbers. I doubt we would keep in touch but it still feels hella good to bump into a friend from Malaysia especially when that person seems happy to see me too.

Cheerio~

EDIT : OMG... o.o I went to the toilet just now. Before I stepped into the toilet, I heard someone went in first. So I thought whatever. In the toilet, I saw one of the doors closed. Naturally, that person would be in that cubicle, right(duh)? So I randomly picked another cubicle with the door semi-opened and stepped right in. And guess what, I bumped into that guy. He just started 'going' when I pushed through. I was like "Oh(didn't manage to get the "God!" out)!! I'm sorry!!x2" and he went "It's alright!(strong Aussie accent)" What the-?? It's not alright! I bumped into you when you were pissing! O,O Please remember to lock that bloody door when you 'go' next time. I won't want to bump into you when you're doing your big business because you would be facing the door then. And that would be an ugly sight.

Sis, if you're reading this. Don't blab to daddy and mummy. They would probably freak out more than I did.

New life...??

Warning : Long entry ahead due to long absence… Be sure to read with clear mind.

First entry since I’ve settled into my small small room in Farrer Hall. I mean it. It is FREAKING small even if it doesn't look like it from the pics below. But I’m not complaining or anything since I’m fond of small space. Give me a cozy feeling, I guess. I like everything about the room except for the fact that it is not ensuite with bathroom. I mean I have no problem sharing a public toilet cum bathroom with a dozen of people but it’s just… just… not private enough. I am a sucker for privacy when it comes to the loo. I don’t enjoy being seen with foams all over my face or being heard when I’m doing my business in the toilet. But I’m already kinda used to having people greeting me while I apply my cooling mask and angmoh guys walking into the bathroom with towel around the waist. Mind you, I can’t see much without my specs. Sad. Hahaha. =p

The only thing that makes my room feels like home is Hipo-chan... =p

I didn’t get to online much few days ago because I have trouble setting up the internet in my room. Or maybe I’m just too stupid to know how to. All thanks to Jia Chee that I get my hands on the manual and voila! My internet is up! But MSN is not working no matter what. #%^$%^$%& And then my savior Braden dropped by to help me. Although it still didn’t work but Thanks anyway, I really appreciate it! And I have DC++!! ^_^ Finally thanks to Matt our resident advisor who set the bloody MSN up for me. So now I can chat with my dear dear family, chagia and chingu again.

Nowadays I get questions like “how’s Melbourne?” and “How’s Uni?” very often. So… hm… how do I describe my life here? It’s cool I guess. I miss everyone back home a lot but I don’t exactly hate it here either. It’s true that I have to start from scratch here. I mean my social life. Most international students do, anyway. We came here without any friends or a few perhaps… But it’s not easy to get together with such different timetables. So I always find myself walking to uni alone, walk back alone, go to the library alone. Close friends would know that I hate being alone. I would never do anything alone if I have to. Hell would freeze over if I’m seen eating or drinking coffee alone at the café or shop alone or watch movie alone or whatever.

That’s why I surprised myself when I realized I don’t feel any loneliness while walking around by myself. Getting lost in the campus alone. Guess I was too occupied(being lost and late and everything) to think of loneliness. But one thing for sure… I would never eat alone. Look so cham… Worst come to worst I just dabao back to my room loh(miss the manglish). But these few days I have companies during lunch and dinner. So no worries! ^_^ So far everyone I met living on the same floor is nice. Mostly Malaysians but the other international students are cool too. Ooooh… I met a Singaporean few days ago and she looks like Jolynn. And she calls herself J which is cool. Haha. And she freaking speaks like Jolynn!! Jolynn are you reading this? XD We watched House together haha. And there is Jonathan who invited me to a Christian dinner/event… reminds me of Jolynn and Aifang for some reasons too. =p And Jia Chee who invited me to go shopping together. It’s nothing like A104 but I’m glad people are nice.

However, there is this guy who lives across my room. He has a drawing of a guy in boxers waving his pants around in the air on his door. With “Pants are Optional!” written on top of the drawing. I thought it was funny but my parents and cousins thought otherwise. They were like “don’t go near him.” Actually they were more concern about the fact that he wrote his interest as partying and drinking(we have to paste our biodata on the door =.=). Ok… so far I haven’t talk to him before or maybe I did… I just can’t remember. Most of the angmohs look the same to me anyway. Oh, and the whole floor is full of geniuses it seems. Based on the biodata on the doors and me poking my nose into other people’s business… they are all soon-to-be politicians, doctors and engineers (Pants are Optional + Engineering = Engineer without Pants? ). OMG~ I'm like the most common person around. Bless me! I don't have as much workload as them. =p

It’s eight and it’s still bright over here… I guess it would pitch black in Malaysia by now. Oh wait, it’s only five in Malaysia right now. Hm… I wonder if I should change the time settings to Aus time...
