A104 Fun Facts n' Interesting Reunion Dinner

First of all, Happy Chinese New Year!!

Secondly, Thanks Emiko-chan for this lovely poem of A104~~~ ^_^

A104 Fun Facts

Welcome all to A104
Of the Sunway Apartment Hostel
Throughout the year 2006
From the beginning to the end

First off is Jolynn Low
The most studious of us all
No doubt she studies all day long
She spends time not only on books
She can be found together with us
Just say the word, and she’ll be there
Strong believer of her faith
Christianity is the only one for her
Always willing to help out
No matter what the problem is
The youngest one among us all
But she’s like us, mature and all

Next on is Joanne Yap
Or some may refer to as Hui Zhong
She is the owner of our microwave
Without it, we can’t survive
And that has proven as a fact
The moment Joanne had moved out
The rest are left without a doubt
That the microwave is their soul savior
A manga lover as well as anime
And there’s also Super Junior
A group of 13 Korean guys
She loves one guy I won’t tell u who

Moving on is Chang Yi Xin
Roommate of Joanne Yap
Together they rule A104
In terms of noise, they are the ones
Shouting aloud ‘til we get a scolding
Another fan of anime and manga
And also Super Junior like Joanne
Together with all the members
They rule A104, enjoying life
Filling the unit with our laughters
All of us chatting about what we love
And now we share a common interest

And then there’s Janice Loh
Our big sister of A104
Always looking out for us
Fan of Ayumi Hamasaki
Lee Hom, Justin and Jolin too
Always dancing and singing
To the music she plays on her pc
Always studying late at night
Never sleep when exam comes
Working hard for what she strives
Always worried of our health
Asking us to eat healthy

Now we have Xiao Lu
Our new member of A104
She came from China
Some where in Bei Fang
Another fan of Korean artists
Always watching Korean game shows
Together with Yi Xin and Joanne
They laugh and laugh till they can no more
Though our time together was kinda short
We still had such a great time
Too bad we knew her quite late
It was sad to depart away from each other

Coming up is Ivy Chin
She lives in room 3 of our unit
She’s a great cook always cooking
Love her food and enjoy eating
Always under pressure due to studies
But nonetheless she always comes through
Loves to watch Chinese dramas
Always watching together with seniors
Always early to go to class
Seldom late, if not never
The sensible kind Ivy is
She cries if something sad happens

Stephanie Ong is up next
Our ex-homie of A104
She joined us only a while
But still we got very close
She’s a friend of Jolynn
From the same origin
The place call Sitiawan
That’s where they were from
Like Jolynn they’re both the same
Always together till she went off
It was sad to say our good byes
But we still keep in touch, that’s what matters

Finally there’s Wan Ting
The most childish of all
Anime loving kidd
Who loves manga too
Always laugh and smile all day
Never get tired from doing so
Very cheerful in a way
Others laugh and smile with her
Curious lad asking questions
Always wonder what it is
Loves to relax and never study
Cos studying means cracking heads

Disclaimer : This is 100% Emiko-chan's production. I'm just putting it up here to spread the love for A104! ^_^

Last night, which was just few hours ago... My family and I went to our relatives' house for reunion dinner. I get to meet up with my cousins and everyone else. And surprisingly, some of my younger cousins actually remember my name!! (I know it's not normal for cousins to not know each other's name but they're kids and they are so many of us so let's just forgive them) So it was great...... until dinner time. One of the cousins I mentioned asked me to sit with her so I gladly obliged. Everything went well until... the cousin told me I'm fat. Fat. FAT. F.A.T. Well, at first, she called me a 'gao ren(tall person)' and I said thanks. I assumed right away it was a complement. Guess I was wrong. I doubt that she was offended by the way I said thanks but the next thing I know... she's calling me fat. And the whole table went silent... ^_^;; I wasn't angry. Just embarrassed. Because when a kid tells you you're fat. You are fat. They say kids are truthful afterall. Well, I can't exactly do anything to her when she's being truthful so I laughed it off.

Few minutes later, her little sister whispered something to her and she turned to me and "She said you fei tut tut! I didn't say that, she did!!". *speechless* Those who know me well enough would know that the only three person on this planet allowed to say I am fat would be Me, Myself and I. So I kinda spat a sweet "so what?(in cantonese)" to them. ^__________^ I know it's wrong of me but... so whaaaaat? Hahaha. Then the cute little whispering went on for a while and now I not only know I'm fat, I know I have an oval face. Hm... interesting. Like I don't know that when I stare into the mirror everyday. XP Well, I kinda lost my appetite by that time. Weight(alongside with my pimples) is an extremely sensitive issue for me especially when I'm currently worrying about gaining more weight when I reach Aus. Then for some unknowm reason, they started hitting and kicking me under the table... Hello?? My aunt did lecture them a bit and I'm grateful. However, I still can't stand much longer, cepat cepat cabut loh~~

Then it was heaven upstairs in my cousin WenWei's room. XDXD She's so high about Super Junior, she suggested we all watch Super Junior's Fullhouse together. So seven of us cramped in her room laughed our heart and tears out for Super Junior. They're great. They made me forget the fact that I'm have big bones(I resent the word fat). =p Due to my influence(I forced her to watch Fullhouse wakaka), Wenwei is now officially fighting over Hee Chul with me. And her room is full of Suju's posters!! Cool!! XD I have no idea how many times she had watched Fullhouse yet she still laughed like it was the first time. It's like ZhongZhong's scenario all over again. =p And another cousin JekHui brought Fullhouse back to burn. I forced her to influence her friends. Nyaaa~~~ Spread the love for SuJu!!!! (Excuse the 'fan girl' exclamtion marks...)

It was a fun and relaxing night overall... with a few interruptions now and then when the two cute little cousins joined us in the room and started fighting over my phone. As a result, one of my games were deleted... Hm... I can feel the generation gap already. Ok, let's put aside the fact that when I was young, adults don't own mobile phones but huge dai kor dai with no sms service and neither games. But I would neeeeever fight over other people's mobile phone not to mention deleting the games inside. Even when I did see "Are you sure you want to delete this? YES NO" on the screen, I'll choose NO out of fear of what might happen if I choose YES. Makes no sense? Yeah, I know. I don't understand it either but still yeah, I can sense the gap. I'm old.

Yesterday morning, I had an enjoyable outing with my family to One U. The first thing we did was to take 大头贴 haha~ I suggested it. Besides my bro, everyone agreed even my dad. My bro was like telling my dad "Are you sure,Dy? Do you know what it is?? It's all girlish and it's PINK!!" My dad practically had to haul him inside the store. XD Cute lil' bro. I must say it was fun doing it with my family as much as it was with my friends!! My dad was all excited too, he even asked me whether the pictures could be enlarge... you know, 8R kind. Haha. I'm sorry but as far as I know... Nope. XP Cute dad.

And I met up with my long time buddy cum sister from primary school, Yi Shiean. We didn't have much time to sit down somewhere for a cup of tea... So we kinda hugged each other etc and took photos of ourselves in Momoe... and she said she heard someone said 'no photoshooting in here'. Haha~
^_^ Take care, Babe!!

The Art of Straightening...

As i had mentioned in my previous post, I went for a haircut which cost RM300 over. As expected from someone who can't leave the saloon without straightening the hair. =p Guilty. Well, I kinda miss my long long hair... kinda. It is short now!! Ok, maybe not short short... Just shorter than long. So yeah, short. I think my new hair looks kinda nice but my brother and sister's reactions told me otherwise(Does "OH MY GOD WHAT THE HELL IS IT WITH YOUR HAIR??" sounds like a complement?).My parents were like "It's fine. It's ok. It'll grow eventually...Don't worry." WHAT!?? Does it sucks that badly?? o.O U guys~~~ I'm thinking twice about going Midvally this Sunday and Pyramid next week liao... Jahat lah! T_T Well, since quite a number of my friends wanted to see my new hairstyle out of curiousity. Well, do you guys know curiousity kills a cat? Don't say I didn't warn u o...

Somehow... out of boredom... I took quite a few pictures in the saloon haha.

My hair... Cut mercilessly. After putting a thick layer of cream all over my hair and shampooed it, Sabrina cut it shorter randomly so that she can save the time and chemical used on my head.

That's how my hair ended up... looks kinda edgy. I was freaking bored and sleepy. I was nodding off when Sabrina applied the cream over my hair and possibly dozing off when the assistant was shampooing my hair.

The green batang I call it. Horrible thing that burned my skin. I was the last customer because it was late. Even so Sabrina was in a fairly good mood... until she got hold of this long green device. Apparently, her assistant isn't exactly the brightest person around. Good timing to be clumsy huh... when your boss was holding a burning batang near my ears. They were both working together on my hair. Each took a side. I was trying my very best to avoid any form of too-close-for-comfort contact with the green thing. It would be a lot better if she did not keep pushing my head towards Sabrina while she was fumbling uncertainly with my hair. It's like touching a boiling kettle with your little pinky. Freaking hot but not exactly on fire. But it's very irritating, ok!!?? Once Sabrina was showing the assistant how to clip my hair right, the device nearly touched my eye. O.O Hello? I don't wanna lose an eye just because I want nice hair...

After the torturing session... I looked like a ghost. Being all tense up during the straightening process... hence, the painful expression.

After the hot treatment, it's the cold one... Cool cream was applied all over my hair. This one smelled like swimming pool... Strong odour which stung my nose. Sometimes I wonder what the hell i'm doing to my hair every once in a year... And man... I look so round with my hair all pulled back. And people ask me why I don't tie up my hair... =.=

Well, while I was waiting for the cream to work its magic, I read a magazine. And I came across something I found amusing. Helen, you're too harsh towards the Americans lah.
(Photos taken in a saloon 2007)

Interesting... So let's check it out...
To those interested, click on it to view larger picture.

Oookay, so French don't get fat because they eat slooooooooow. Like snail(Ok... lame, I know). I wanna try escargots one day... In France.

Hohoho, surprise surprise. Japanese are freaking thin. Maybe not as over the top as those we saw in Manga and Anime(Think Nana and Paradise Kiss) but yeah they are thin. And I see improvement in cup size... Hm... I wonder if surgeries enhanced breasts were considered when the research was done... =p Guess what, I'm almost as tall as an average Japanese MAN and almost as heavy as one too. =.= Deep shit. NEXT!!

Hm... I dunno. I am taller(You sure?) than an average American woman and lighter too. Waaaaay lighter, mind you. =p (Trying to comfort myself after reading the Japanese column) However... they have BIG boobs, don't they? Big boobs made them heavy. Just my assumption but not really 'beyond all hope' lah... Right? ^_^ll

Well well... let's have a look at Negaraku...

Ookay... so we're not only fat, we're damn sick too. =.= Curse those sugarcanes. And those teh tarik and Ice Kacang... Look, it's not our fault that 'Malaysians also rank among the most overweight in the Asean region', ok? Malaysia is not called the Heaven of Food(quoted from Alex lol) for nothing!

Since they're too shy to publish the average weight and height of Malaysians... I am stuck with comparing myself to Australians. Well, I am going Australia in less than two weeks time... ^_^;;

No worries~~~! I am taller and lighter which makes me positively sliiiiiiiim in Australia. ^_^ll Well, can't blame me for comparing, can you? It's human nature to care about own weight. Muahaha...ha...ha...haihz... I wonder how big is their Mcdonald's burger... I heard they can eat a regular pizza each. With an appetite of a cow, I think I need to start worrying about gaining weight.

Okay, enough crap. Let's get back to crap. So my hair... I didn't know what was going on exactly without specs. The problem with nearsighted people like me excluding those with contact lense duh... We don't know what the hell is going on until everything is too late. The moment we wear our specs is the moment we realize we look the BEST blurry in the mirror. Well, at least I did. But I kinda get used to the hairstyle and actually LIKE it when I was flashing my head around in front of my mirror on the way back home. It was my idea after all. However, getting an "OH MY GAWD!" once I got home isn't a good sign. Hey, friends(you know who you guys are). Since you guys were eager to see my new hair(cough cough =p)... well, I hope you guys would at least tell me that I look GREAT with my new hair... XP I don't care even if you have to lie nyaha~~~

With specs version and without specs version Haha. Sabrina said I should get a pair of contacts. I guess I do look kinda nerdy with specs... Humph... Anyway,
I have fringe!!! XDXD I never had fringe since standard... I dunno. I didn't like it at first because the fringe is just too thin... I like it thicker. But whatever... I am still not comfortable with the fringe as you can see I kinda pushed most of my fringe aside unintentionally. Really... how did you gals deal with fringe? Tak geli ke? Atau sudah biasa?

My sis has this weird grudge against fringe... She always said she felt like slapping those actress with fringe whenever she saw them on TV. With her 'pfft-ing' every now and then when she looks at me, I don't know how long I can stand it... =.= And with my bro asking me who I am everytime he sees me... MUMMY~~~ >o<

Farewell...

Went to a farewell dinner yesterday night. Enjoyed the meal... XDXD Delicious. And guess what, we actually ate 'yee sang' in the restaurant. We bought it from Jusco actually. Man... we were the noisiest table in the restaurant. Imagine a table of 13 guys and girls getting all excited over a plate of 'yee sang' in a Kenny Roger Restaurant... ^_^;; It's not even a Chinese restaurant... But no doubt we had great fun. I am pretty sure we were a disturbance to all the diners who thought they could spend a peaceful night enjoying their grilled chicken. But too baaaaaaad nyaaa~~ =p But honestly, we didn't do anything illegal, right? There wasn't any "No Outside Food Allowed" sign in the restaurant. And no sign of waiters throwing us out(or maybe it's just because we haven't pay yet...). In fact one of the waiter went 'woooo~~' when we wooed. Cute. This is my first 'yee sang' of the year and... ever seen anyone eating 'yee sang' with a fork?? ^_^ll Well, we all did. Can't ask for chopsticks, can we?

Well, it seems two of my 5S6 classmates are going to Melbourne too. Monash University as well. And Clayton campus too... Coincidence huh? It's already a fact that Australia is packed with Malaysians... =.= Ok, maybe not just Malaysians. Whatever. All I need to do is to flash a bag of Maggie Mee around and I'm sure heads would turn and go "AHA! U're a Malaysian too?". Family and friends advised me not to just befriend Malaysians, make more friends from all over the world. Hm... I hope I could do that... With all the Malaysians swirling around haha. =p But I'm kinda glad because it would be a lot more like home. I can always find someone to go for Roti Canai with me when I feel like tasting something beside potatoes and beef. Oh~~~ but i really wanna try pork burger from Mcdonald's. Haha, I have this craving for Mcdonald yesterday in Midvalley and my friends were like "aiyo...Australia plenty of Mcdonald lah got pork somemore leh". Hm... I wonder if Australia have no Kenny Rogers... XP

Well, I would really miss my friends here. But somehow I didn't shade any tears when i parted with my 5S6 buddies in Midvalley. I don't know... sometimes you have to reach the very last minute to feel the sadness. For sloooow people like me, I would probably cry only when I stepped into the KLIA or worse... when I finally settle down in Australia. Hm... scary thoughts. I won't want my family and friends to have the last memory of me being all red and puffy. Oh nononono...

Well, I'm going for a haircut tomorrow. I'm thinking how much it would cost... consider the fact that I can't go for a haircut without straghtening my hair. Haha... I think I spent enough money already. With the tuition fees for Monash and stuff. Man! Money really does all the talking in this world. Money rules. Money rocks. Boohoo... But... My hair sucks without straghtening, okay? It's not my fault, it's in the gene. >.< Come to think of it, I really need to get some Chinese New Year clothes. This is calling for some serious shopping spree... Hm... And oh yeah, I need to buy webcams. Harddisk. Shoes(preferably Nike haha). Manga. Anime.

Damn.

Memories

I've recieved the email containing Visa Grant Notification. Okaaaaaay, so i have a student Visa now. The realization of me leaving Malaysia to Australia hit me hard on my head. Talk about slow. =.= I knew I'm gonna study abroad since I was pretty young. My dad seems to think that he has the responsibility to send all 3 of us to somewhere... and i think that's the reason why he turned into such a workaholic. Sorry, dad... And sorry, mum. ^_^ll Haha...ha...

I always resented the fact that I'll be kicked off to some foreign country until last year when i finally realized that I am a lucky bastard. Lucky to have a dad who works like a dog since my birth just to save money for my studies(not that other dads don't work like dogs). I can't complain much, can I? Yeah, i know i was immature back then. Punch me, someone. Some of my friends can't go overseas for further studies due to financial constraint. I, on the other hand, have everything ready for me. What else more can i ask for?

However... i'll miss everything here for sure. Family... Friends... Humidity... Mosquitoes... Roti canai... Assam laksa... Sigh...

2006 was a year full of great memories for me. I have this sudden urge to indulge in memories haha. But my brain is like a total mess because it's late and I can't think straight. So why not just list down the memories of the year and make my own life easier? =p

1st Day : The first person i talked to on the first day of orientation was an indian girl... I don't even remember her name now. Guess the friendship didn't last long since she seems half-hearted about it. Haha. Nevermind. I met a better friend. Joanne. She was standing all alone opposite of me when we were waiting outside the LT. I was struggling whether to talk to her or not. But I guess my shy nature took over haha. ^_^ll My first impression of her was... quiet(Guess I was dead wrong =p) and I'm afraid she might think i'm weird if i go up to her all of a sudden. I was pretty surprised when she sat down beside me in the LT. I was so excited I kinda spat out a loud "HI! I'M YI XIN!". Embarassing.

2nd Day
: Second day of orientation was frantic as the Ausmatians were practically fighting over each other for the best timetable arrangement. I don't remember whether I met up with Joanne or not though as she took different subjects. The indian friend wasn't keen to arrange her timetable the same as mine. Fine, I don't care(yeah, right). I was chatting around with random people and that was when I met Ching Yee. I didn't know back then that i had actually met her before when i registered for Ausmat. Our dads are colleagues. Small world huh? So we ended up with the same timetable and became close friends.

3rd Day : Third day of orientation, the day we fought over second hand books. Haha. I still ended up with new books anyway. Well, I met up with Joanne and we were standing in front of the classes waiting for the seniors to show up when Janice's mum came up to talk to Joanne. I joined in uninvitedly. =p Janice didn't talk much. She was just standing there. We had a nice chat with them and... somehow we ended up in the same hostel. My house isn't far away from the college but I didn't want my mum to spend more time in the car. She was practically a full time taxi driver with my brother and sister in different schools. I decided to join in with the fun and I must say it is one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life.

A104
: When i stepped into A104, the first person i saw was Ivy with her friend eating dinner(or was it lunch?). According to Ivy, i sounded nervous but i really wasn't. I felt quite at home actually and glad that she's a nice girl. And then there was Joanne. Not long after I moved in, I found out we have the same interest. XD Manga! Anime! When I saw her taking out her mangas and rearranged them, I was like 'AHA! I can start a conversation with that!!'. And the next thing i know, we were covering the walls of our room with posters haha. Happy happy memories! ^_^

And then I met dear Jolynn and Wan Ting. My first impression of Jolynn was... studious. Definitely studious haha. Even she can't deny that. We were already a crazy bunch when Jolynn moved in and I was kinda afraid that she would think badly of us for being noisy. But nyaaaah~~ later we found out that she's capable of being noisy as well haha. She became a lot more open to us after Stephanie moved in. And Wan Ting, undoubtedly, an anime maniac. Haha. One step into our room, saw the posters... *poof* From the cool cool gal to the talkative gal with pitless anime information. =p Stephanie was great as well, too bad she didn't stay long enough. Who would have thought she would be as crazy as she is? Looks really could meddle with our minds. ^_^ And surprisingly(don't ask me why i'm surprised XP), Jolynn and Stephanie read mangas and watch animes too!! Mostly Slam Dunk but that's a start haha. With housemates and roommates with same interests, this is not just coincidence. This is Fate. That's what i believe haha. Laugh if you want. And of course, Xiao Lu!! Man! XD

Classes : Met Evonne during Econs. Great personality. Fun to talk to. Evonne, Ching Yee and I clicked almost immediately. If I'm not mistaken, Ching Yee knew Evonne before i did. Anyway, we lived in the same apartment block. With Joanne and Evonne in the same IS class, she eventually became a regular of A104 haha. ^_^ And of course, Sin Mei whom I met along with Suke and Suyin. The first thought came into my mind was 'whoa, leng luis!'. I never thought Sin Mei would be such a close friend since she had the other two friends... Oh well, let's just say i'm lucky. ^o^ With her frequent visits to A104, she became very close with our dear dear Joanne as well. And then they gang up to bully me haha. Just kidding. =p Then there were Jennifer and Jie Yen who gave me the first impression of being smart and quiet. What I didn't know was... they are geniuses and Fur Fur is deeeefinitely not quiet. @_@

Man...there are so many people I wanna mention and so many good memories I wanna jot down... but I'm freaking sleepy haha. Before I end the first section(*shock* There are more!?) of my Memories... I would like to shout out to all the people i mentioned in this entry...

LOVE YOU GUYS!! XDXD

To those I haven't mention... Haha... don't worry, more to go. This blog is my crapnest, I'll take my honey sweet time crapping about my valuable memories. ^_^ You'll appear sooner or later. Don't worry haha. =p
